As the Supervisor & Programming Director of Carefree, my goal is to provide every child with an environment filled with an abundance of love and learning opportunities that are both developmentally challenging and age appropriate. OUR MENU
Eating healthy is important. This is why we use the freshest vegetables and fruits prepared in our own kitchen! Carefree has a rotating menu of seven weeks that offers a wide range of morning and afternoon snacks, as well as hot lunches. The food is prepared fresh daily by our onsite chef who is Food Handler Certified. We take the food we serve very seriously! We don’t only prepare the food in our kitchen but all the fresh vegetables and fruit is specially hand picked by our management team.
Our menu is adaptable to meet the individual needs of children with anaphylactic allergies and/or dietary restrictions. We offer Halal meat as well as accommodate those who want a vegetarian alternative. We have designed our menu to ensure that children are receiving the recommended servings of fruits & vegetables, meats and alternatives, dairy and grain products as outlined in Canada’s Food Guide from Heath Canada.

Community Partners
Carefree works closely with community partners to ensure that your children are provided with an educational experience that enhances their knowledge and understanding about the world around them and their connection within their community.
In order to achieve these goals, we have built positive and collaborative relationships with Toronto Police Services, Toronto EMS, Toronto Fire, Toronto Public Health (including annual Dental Screening), Toronto Public Library and many more. Throughout the year, visits from our community partners are arranged at our centre so children can have hands on experiences with different professions and first responders.
Indoor Playgrounds
To continue to promote healthy active lifestyles during bad weather days, we have designated gyms and indoor space for Infants, Toddlers, Preschool, and School Age children.
Outdoor Playgrounds
We ensure that each child has a safe outdoor environment with developmentally age appropriate materials and equipment. Our Infant and Toddler outdoor space is over 2079 square feet, while our Preschool and School Age groups enjoy an outdoor space that is over 17,701 square feet!

Non-Discrimination Policy
Our school is committed to promoting respect and recognizing the positive contribution of each individual and group regardless of race, colour or religious affiliation. An Anti Racism Policy is developed to create an atmosphere that recognizes cultural awareness, reflects cultural differences and teaches children tolerance, acceptance and respect of each and every person.
Our school will endeavour to respect cultural and religious events as they occur. Our classrooms and activities reflect the multicultural population. We should do our utmost to achieve success and happiness by having an environment of mutual respect and understanding between all the staff members, and between staff members and parents/guardians.
Parents/guardians are expected to cooperate with us in maintaining our Anti Racism Policy and providing suggestions and information regarding events and occurrences they would like to see us taking part in, and by emphasizing to their children the importance of tolerance and respect of the right of others.
By working together, we hope to create a harmonious atmosphere where the children will thrive, be accepted and learn to accept all others. We hope to produce a generation of adults who are sensitive to the needs of every person in the community at large.
